This place was great from the moment we arrived! Warmest welcome and the staff went over the top to help us celebrate my son’s 21st bday! The location is amazing - right in the heart of the loop! The style of the hotel is exactly as they call it iconic! No plastic keys - A metal key with keychain! So cool! Two huge city view windows! The restaurant and bar were awesome as well! Big shot out to Cassandra at the front desk and Maya at the bar! They were amazing and a great part of our awesome stay!

This lovely hotel is in the theater district and a wonderful placement for walking around the main parts of Chicago. It was comfortable and historic. We were on the 5th floor on the corner facing Macy’s and Millennial Park. We took the train into Chicago and walked to the hotel. It was about a block or so from the Christmas Market.

Loved the location near the EL loop train stations. Room and the bed / Pillows were super comfortable for a good night sleep. Bar and Restaurant was awesome! Wonderful front desk staff... Sashon provided quick check and Cassandra recommended some great steak houses for dinner. Will be staying here for my next trip to Chicago!

This was first trip to Chicago and the hotel was in the best location. We felt very safe walking around in the area. It’s a short walk to public transportation whether bus, rail or train. It is close to Chicago Art Institute and theater district. The staff was very welcoming with fast and easy check in and check out. If you need anything just ask and it is sent to your room quickly. We loved the 2 duvets idea and comfortable beds. Atwood restaurant and bar is connected to the lobby which makes it convenient for you to eat.

The hotel is in a good location and conveniently located for transportation, the park and Magnificent Mile. It calls itself "iconic" but I was a little disappointed with the hotel and the facilities. Firstly, there doesn't seem to be a discernible lobby area or welcoming area. Appreciate that the building is old but have stayed in other vintage hotels which have been properly renovated. Rooms are a bit tired, bathrooms need a full face-lift. Our shower fitting was poor and dripped. The beds are very comfortable though. Rooms would also benefit from a sheer curtain. It was either have your room completely in view of the shopping centre across the street or have complete darkness. Lighting was also terrible with one main light in the hallway and one bedside lamp. Security is a bit dubious with no pass required to use the lift. And the Rooms still have old fashioned keys. There was also a side entrance which seemed to be open. Housekeeping is minimal and takes place every other day. You have to refill your bottle downstairs. Tea and coffee making machine is in front of the tv and no kettle. Breakfast in Attwood was great though and good service and food. I do think the hotel is a bit of a gimmick and should not be classed as a 4 star, more 3 star.
